The US Department of Energy (DOE) studies show that 40% of your home’s energy is lost due to air infiltration. THIS is the year to make use of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies passed by Congress.

The economic stimulus bill, known as The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (H.R. 1), was signed into law by President Obama on February 17th of 2009. The economic stimulus bill will provide significant energy tax credits for energy efficient home improvements made during 2009 and 2010.  Eligible home improvements include those made to roofs, windows, doors, insulation, HVAC and non-solar water heaters.

The Tax Incentives Assistance Project (TIAP), sponsored by a coalition of public interest nonprofit groups, government agencies, and other organizations in the energy efficiency field, is designed to give consumers and businesses information they need to make use of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies passed by Congress as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and subsequently amended several times. Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program Conservation Rebates
The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program is designed to encourage eligible customers to install high efficiency, gas saving products by providing cash incentives, while educating customers about the benefits of energy efficiency.

Funded by ratepayers of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, the Program is guided by the Citizens Utility Board, City of Chicago, Environmental Law and Policy Center, Illinois Attorney General’s Office, and Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas. For more information Go to Site
